Environmental policy
How CIBINNO factors environmental impact into its digital choices — for our own operations and for what we deliver to clients. Our footprint is small and measured; the real contribution comes from what our platforms save at the client.

Our own footprint: measured, not estimated
- Cloud infrastructure emissions are read monthly from the provider's official source, across all three emission scopes.
- June 2026: 0.504 kgCO₂e across the entire infrastructure — a run rate of roughly 6 kgCO₂e per year.
- No manufacturing, no fleet, no warehouse: we ship software, not objects. No implementation involves physical equipment, packaging or transport.
Sustainability built into the business model
- We sell a subscription platform, not licences and not hardware. The client does not buy infrastructure, does not oversize it and does not scrap it — resources are shared and sized to actual usage.
- At equal functionality, we choose the option that reduces resource consumption at the client: less dead stock, fewer empty trips, electronic files and signatures instead of paper, correctly sized energy use.
- We operate entirely paperless: electronic invoicing, qualified signatures, archive and approvals in the platform.
Environmental criteria in IT procurement
- Cloud regions with low carbon intensity and renewable energy coverage — our infrastructure runs in Ireland and the Netherlands, which also serves EU data residency.
- Services that scale to zero, preferred over always-on servers; resources sized to the functional minimum, with cost ceilings that also cap consumption.
- Suppliers with a public carbon-neutrality commitment and emissions reporting.
- Equipment used for at least 4 years, refurbished accepted, zero hardware bought when an already-paid service covers the need.
Equipment & governance
- Decommissioned equipment is reused internally or handed over through manufacturer take-back programmes or to an authorised WEEE collector — never to household waste. Devices are cryptographically wiped before handover.
- We operate an internal, uncertified environmental management system: this policy, the procurement criteria, monthly emissions measurement and an equipment register, reviewed annually.
- For clients with ESG requirements we provide, as an annex to the offer: the policy, our own emissions data, confirmation of EU hosting and the mechanism by which the platform reduces resource consumption on their side. Write to contact@cibinno.ro.
